Merlin Association for Promotion of Creativity

Merlin Association, in cooperation with the City of Pula and the Tourist Board, and within its project for Creative Workshops, is the organizer of the exhibition and sales manifestation at Ninfej location (the square by the amphitheater). Six associations from Pula will participate in this manifestation with the work of their members: City Workhop, SOS Telephone, Merlin, Cassoni Vecchi and the Association of Physically Disabled Persons, Medulin Art.

The organizations that applied for the participation are participating with the original souvenirs inspired by the cultural-historical heritage of the City of Pula. Souvenirs are made of natural materials (clay, plaster casts patinated with earth, amphitheater, painted lavender bags and bottles, printed T-shirts and postcards, boxes and ornaments, wood and stone, jewelry, masks, magnets, etc.). These souvenirs are special not only because of the originality of the interpretation of cultural and historical heritage and the fact that they have been manufactured in local shops, but also because a portion of the income from their sales goes for the contribution for the development of social entrepreneurship and sustainability of these nonprofit organizations.

During this summer, the creative workshop ROMAN SMILES will make over 6000 souvenirs, Roman masks, portraits of the Emperor Vespasian and his charming Antonia Cenida, for whom the emperor built the magnificent amphitheater in the first Century, in honor of their love. Members of the Association and the persons with disabilities are involved in making souvenirs, while sales booths are staffed with the students.
