On 21 August 2013, Merlin Association has signed a contract in the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, for grant in program "Integration of Disadvantaged Groups in Regular Education System," IPA Component IV Human Resources Development for the project "Integration of Roma children in the the town of Vodnjan in the educational system of RH", which will be implemented in the next 18 months.
The aim of the project is to promote equal opportunities in access to education for disadvantaged groups through promoting provision of relevant services. Project partners of Merlin Association are Primary School Vodnjan, Primary School Giuseppina Martinuzzi, and Town of Vodnjan. During the project implementation, 50 children aged 3-15 years from the town of Vodnjana will participate in the project, and four people will be employed. In addition to the EU funds, the project will also be co-financed by the National Foundation for the Development of Civil Society, Istria County and partner organizations.
