ERSTE Foundation Award for Social Integration is one of the greatest regional initiatives to award and promote the work of philanthropic organizations. This year, 1865 project from 12 countries applied for this award. 132 "Country Winners" were short-listed and invited to participate in the Social Networking Event and the Awards Ceremony, which took place in Prag from 19 - 20 June 2011.
The jury comprised of 20 prominent specialists from several countries chose 31 winner, 3 of whom were main prizes, and 3 prizes were chosen by 132 representatives of the participants in this Awards Ceremony.
Croatian NGOs won 4 monetary prizes, including the main prize and the black spiky sculpture for the Shelter and Counseling Centre for Women and Children Victims of Violence, Autonomous Women’s House Zagreb. The other awards went to: Roses of Saint Francis Homeless Schelter in Rijeka, Order of St. Francis, Local Chapter "Trsat", Rijeka; Diving Club klub GeRonimo (one of the 31 award winners), while Merlin Association for promotion of creativity won "Practitioners' Award for Social Impact" for the project of Children's Center "Morning Flower" in Vodnjan - this award was awarded by the experts from 132 countries who participated in the finale of "Country Winners".
